Summary

[edit]
Description
English: It was built for Behruz Ağa, the chief chamberlain of Suleiman the Magnificent, in 1562 together with a primary school, fountain and bath, which has not survived to the present day. The mosque, which is the work of Mimar Sinan, burned down in 1782 and was repaired by Mahmud II in 1836. It took its final shape in 1983 after extensive renovation work. It is unclear to what extent the Sinan style is still visible.
