| Description |
English: Harris Looking down towards the bay, with the sunlight on the sea glistening through the columns of the Bullough Mausoleum. The other two buildings are Harris Lodge, near the mausoleum, and the bothy in the foreground, neither of which is permanently occupied. The island of Coll can be glimpsed, 20 miles away on the horizon.
Harris was once a sizeable settlement, and the old lazybeds which surround it are a reminder of this. Now it is uninhabited - a lonely and haunting spot, six miles of rough track from the nearest habitation in the village of Kinloch. |
