Finally saw a "Harlem Shake" happen. From what I've been told, it starts off with one person (normally a person dressed up or wearing a mask) dancing around with everyone ignoring and/or not joining in. Next thing you know, lots of people have joined in doing all sorts of moves. Kinda silly if you ask me but made for an "interesting" photographic experience. Oh, as a side note, one of the "security" people from the other convention was telling us to bring down the volume during the shoot because it was 11:00 p.m. We all laughed at him as his loud noise equaled a very dull roar in comparison to other cons I've been to. :-D UPDATE: Okay, this is kind of one of those "WTF?" moments that seem to happen to me... a lot. This picture was featured in an article by InformationCrunch.com on "East Harlem Apartments – Experience Cultural Living In Nyc." Huh? While I'm quite pleased that they chose my photo to use, I have wonder what the hell does a bunch of anime kids doing the "Harlem Shake" have to do with the culture in Harlem apartments? o.O? |
