Description

Hariti:


Hariti is the first bronze icon reported from a budhist site in the stratigraphical context.It shows archaic features.She holds her child Pilingala with her hands. A round object in the right hand of the child is a pomegranate .The mother's hair style ,eyes,mouth and and ornaments such as ear rings ,neckleces ,bracelets,armlets and waist band are crudly delineated in an applique design.In budhist mythology she is familiarly known as a protecter and bestover of children .
