Cannon salvaged from the packet ship Hanover, wrecked off the Cornish coast in 1763.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A 17th-century Spanish cannon (one of a pair in New Zealand) salvaged from the packet ship Hanover, sunk off the Cornish coast in 1763. These two cannons were purchased from England, shipped to Auckland and installed in front of Oceanbridge House, Takapuna in 2011. Being old (c. 1670) and out of service, they were used as ballast on the ship. This particular cannon is placed to the left of the entrance to the building.
