| Description |
c/n 234 Originally built in 1969 with the registration G-BBBV. In 1974 it joined South Central Air Transport in America as N102SC. It passed through Apollo Airlines and Pacific Coast Airlines before being reregistered in Las Vegas as N14234, in 1986. Stored and probably used for spares it was eventually used for static tests by British Aerospace. It has been at East Fortune since at least 1994 and is painted in British Aerospace house colours. It is on display in Hangar 4 at the National Museum of Flight (part of National Museums Scotland). East Fortune Airfield, East Lothian, Scotland. 13th September 2017. Note:- This airframe has previously been listed in some sources as being the third prototype Jetstream ‘G-ATXJ’ c/n 200. I have no evidence either way but with only an eight year gap in its history, c/n 234 seem more likely to me than c/n 200 which there seems to have been no record of since 1972! |
