Description
English: These photos were taken by Thomas T. Hammond during his trip to the Soviet Union. This specific image features the Tikhvinskaya Church neighborhood in present-day Alexeyevsky District in Moscow.
Русский: Москва, село Алексеевское, Тихвинская церковь. Вид с Алексеевской улицы (Проспект Мира - нынешняя низина, где автобусная остановка "ВДНХ" в сторону загорода). Дома слева - нынешние 1, 3, 5, 7 по Ракетному бульвару (притом что сам бульвар начинается далеко к востоку отсюда). Когда-то на их месте петляла речка Копытовка. Видно, что дома построены на насыпи, а насыпали ее как раз на месте реки. Но, похоже, саму реку ещё не спрятали в трубу, и её русло просто сместилсь и подтопило низину ().
