Hama noria

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: One of pictures taken during several walks about town in 2009, one during the day the Ramadan ended, Ied-al-Fitr, when the town was in a festive mood and people visited the norias on foot or peddled on the river close to them. Other pictures try and show the construction, or were taken near the al-Nuri mosque with some impressive wheels on borth sides of the Orontes river. On some one can see how the norias were connected to the aqueduct still running through part of the town.
