Suomi: Pekka Halonen: Huviretki. 1906. Öljymaalaus (diptyykin vasen puolisko, 100 x 242 cm). Helsingin kaupunki. Suuntaus valoisiin, monumentaalisesti käsiteltyihin luonnonaiheisiin ja aikaisempaa puhtaampiin väreihin ilmeni vuosisadan alussa. Pekka Halonen hakeutui Suomenlahden saaristoon Virolahdelle maalatakseen Taidetta kouluihin-yhdistyksen tilaaman seinämaalauksen, joka kuvaa perheen huoletonta kesäistä huviretkeä. Halosen maalaustekniikan vapautuminen impressionismia kohti oli vasta alkamassa.
