Summary
[edit]DescriptionHalfway House - geograph.org.uk - 1139410.jpg |
English: Halfway House Halfway House, as viewed from behind a soil storage mound. Because of its location, halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, this was used as a stopover point for Horses, before the age of the Car. The B7066 road is completely hidden behind the mound of earth. Picture taken from Coal Extraction Area "E" at Polkemmet Opencast Coal Scheme. The structure in the foreground is a lighting tower, used to light the working areas of the Opencast. |
