English: The Petőfi Square in 1913 in Hajdúdorog, Hungary. The great white building on the left side is the Greek Catholic Primary School's building. In those times the school building hosted four shops as well which are represented by those huge black gates on the picture. Behind the school there's the tower of the Greek Catholic Cathedral.
The picture was taken on the 5th of October 1913 when the first bishop of the Diocese of Hajdúdorog, István Miklósy was consecrated in the cathedral. That's why there's a big gate of flowers in the middle of the picture with a board saying: "Isten hozott" that is Welcome! The picture is part of the archive of the Hajdúdorog Community House (Görög Demeter Művelődési Ház) which is free and available for anyone. Upon this reason it is in the public domain.Magyar: A kép a hajdúdorogi Petőfi teret ábrázolja 1913-ban. A kép bal oldalán lévő nagy fehér épület a Görög Katolikus Elemi Népiskola épülete. Abban az időben az iskola épületében négy üzlet is működött, amelyeket a képen a nagy fekete kapuk jelölnek. Az iskola mögött a görög katolikus székesegyház tornya látható. A kép 1913. október 5-én készült, amikor a Hajdúdorogi Egyházmegye első püspökét, Miklósy Istvánt a székesegyházban felszentelték. Emiatt látható a kép közepén egy nagy virágokkal díszített kapu, amelynek a felső részén egy tábla hirdeti: Isten hozott! A kép a hajdúdorogi Görög Demeter Művelődési Ház archívumához tartozik, amely bárki által szabadon felhasználható. |
