Description
English: HMS Marlborough (90 guns) after fight at Toulon (1744). The ship was severely damaged by the Spanish Real (110 guns) and Hercules (64 guns).

A draught of the Marlborough as she appeared in the late Engagement in the Mediterranean Febry. 11, 1743 Marlborough of 90 guns, Capt. Cornwell, engaged by the Reall of 114 guns and Hercules of 64, the Rear of Admiral Mathews Division being to windward: Capt. Cornwell was killed. Capt. of y. soldiers Killed, first Lieut lost one arm. Mastr. both Leggs. 45 Men killed at their quarters, 125 lost leggs and arms. Lieuts.: 1. Frederick Cornwell. 2. Timothy Nucella 3. Inc. Haile 4. Inc. Ballet. 5. Matthew Moore. 6. Frederick Hyde.
