Description
English: H.M.S. Inflexible

Cropped version of a Hand-coloured lithograph. View tof the bow of the armoured battleship, HMS Inflexible (1876) approaching at speed through a grey choppy sea. Smoke streams to port from her two funnels which are partially obscured by masts and yards. A heavily armoured ship, one of her two hydraulically powered gun turrets can be seen amidships on the starboard side. A red ensign flies from the top of the main mast and Union Jack from the bow. Two life boats are suspended from davits towards the stern and members of the crew stand on the upper deck. A marker buoy is shown floating in the foreground.
