Description
English: This 1861 engraving by Gustave Dore depicts Cantos IX and X of Dante's Inferno, in which Dante and Virgil explore the Sixth Circle of Hell and speak to some of the heretics who are punished there. Here the poet listens to the account of a fellow Florentine, the Epicurean and Ghibelline leader Farinata degli Uberti.
