English: A variant of the Chinese character "國" (Pinyin: guó; On'yomi Romaji: Koku; MCR: kuk), meaning "country". This character is recorded in the 宋元以來俗字譜, and is also commonly used in Korea as well. An example of an appearance of this character is on the Liancourt Rocks, where the characters "韓境" are carved into the side of the rock, visible on some images. |
