| Description |
English: Gunung Kawi is a temple built in the 11th century in the northeast of Tampaksiring, near Ubud in Bali (Indonesia). It is located by the Pakrisan River.
The complex, which is accessed after crossing superb rice terraces, includes 10 sanctuaries (5+4+1) in the shape of a candi, dug into the rock of the cliff to a height of 7 m (around 23 ft). These monuments are believed to be dedicated to King Anak Wungsu (of the Udayana dynasty) and his wives.
Bahasa Indonesia: Gunung Kawi adalah sebuah pura yang dibangun pada abad ke-11 di timur laut Tampaksiring, dekat Ubud di Bali (Indonesia). Terletak di tepi Sungai Pakrisan.
Kompleks ini, yang dapat diakses setelah melintasi teras sawah yang luar biasa, mencakup 10 cagar alam (5+4+1) berbentuk candi, digali ke dalam batu karang setinggi 7 m (sekitar 23 kaki). Monumen ini diyakini didedikasikan untuk Raja Anak Wungsu (dari dinasti Udayana) dan istri-istrinya. |
