Guillotine utilisée à l'époque de la colonisation française La guillotine a été introduite au Vietnam par les colonisateurs français au 19ème siècle, elle a été utilisée jusqu'en 1960. Installé dans l'ancien bâtiment de « l'US Information Service », le musée des Souvenirs (ou Vestiges) de guerre (Bao Tang Chung Tich Chien Tranh) présente les horreurs des guerres qui se sont déroulées au Vietnam contre le colonisateur français, puis contre le Vietnam du sud et son allié américain. Des matériels militaires US laissés sur place sont présentés devant le musée : canon de 175 mm, char M-48, hélicoptère UH-1 Bell, divers types de bombes, blindés, avions, etc.. L'exposition présente de nombreuses photos témoignant des évènements de la guerre et des exactions effectuées par l'armée US, comme le massacre de My Lai ou l'utilisation intensive des défoliants (agent orange,..), des bombes incendiaires (napalm,..), avec leurs terribles conséquences sur la population (malformations, brulures, lésions,..) et sur l'environnement. De nombreuses photos sont insoutenables. On nous a dit que certains américains aident à titre individuel les vietnamiens à réparer les dommages causés par leur armée mais que rien n'était effectué à titre officiel par le gouvernement des Etats-Unis.
