Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Digester A is filled with 10 g of pretreated cinchona bark (pulverized, wetted, mixed with lime, dried and again pulverized) and 100 mL of diethyl ether, which disssolves quinine and quinidine but not cinchonine. By opening stopcock r the clear ether extract is collected; else it is poured back in the digester. The solution is then acidified with sulphuric acid and titrated.
