Description
English: Pulse envelope has smaller propagation velocity than optical carrier in material with normal dispersion.

- In time delay this shows as larger delay of the envelope as the pulse propagates. - Group delay is larger than phase delay. - Group velocity is smaller than phase velocity.

Pulse length dt=14 ps and carrier at 1000 nm. Model and animation was generated with Matlab.
