Ces photographies représentent plusieurs spécimens, mâles et femelles, de grondins gris pêchés en Méditerranée.

Seule espèce du genre Eutrigla, le grondin gris est un poisson ayant la particularité (comme ses congénères de la famille des Triglidae) de produire un son lorsqu'il se sent en danger. Ce son, émis grâce à la vibration de sa vessie natatoire, lui vaut son nom vernaculaire de "grondin". Le grondin gris, comme les autres poissons de la famille des Triglidae (dont le rouget), vit sur les sols meubles ou le sable.

These photographs represent several specimens, male and female, of gray gurnards caught in the Mediterranean.

The only species of the genus Eutrigla , the gray gurnard is a fish with the particularity (like its congeners in the Triglidae family) of producing a sound when it feels in danger. This sound, emitted by the vibration of its swim bladder, gives it its vernacular name of "gurnard". The gray gurnard, like other fish in the Triglidae family (including the red mullet), lives on soft ground or sand.
