Summary

[edit]
Description

Greenwich Meridian Line passes this point.

In 1960 the Bluebell Railway commenced train operation from Sheffield Park Station to just outside Horsted Keynes. Fifty years later we have extended our line to Kingscote and are now on the final leg of extending further into the old market town of East Grinstead. Our steam locomotive collection has grown from the original two locomotives (Numbers 55 "Stepney" and 323 "Bluebell") to a fleet of over thirty locomotives and one hundred carriages and wagons.

Sheffield Park Station is the headquarters of the Railway and home to the Locomotive Department. Here you will find engines awaiting restoration or their next turn of duty. On Platform 1 you will find our large well stocked gift shop. Housed within the purpose built restaurant at is our real ale bar, The Bessemer Arms, named in honour of the local resident who first saved the line from closure.

Horsted Keynes Station is a large country station and home to our award winning Carriage and Wagon Department who are responsible for restoring and maintaining our carriages. It is an ideal place to get married in our 1930's waiting room.

Kingscote Station is a quiet country station, the current terminus of the railway and is restored to its British Railways 1950's condition.
