Description
English: False color image of Green Bay taken on May 15, 2022 with Resourcesat-2 by the Indian remote sensing program in cooperation with the USGS Center for Earth Resources Observation and Science.

The colors are modified as follows:

  • Spectral Band 2, which receives the green wavelength, is depicted as blue
  • Spectral Band 3, which receives the red wavelength, is depicted as green
  • Spectral Band 4, which receives the near-infrared (see Near-infrared spectroscopy § Astronomical spectroscopy), is depicted as red

Source cropped from the L1GST version of item R2AWF05152022272036, available from EarthExplorer, using the .tif files for bands 2, 3, and 4; bands were combined with MultiSpec© and converted from .tif to .png with GIMP. The image was also histogram stretched and adjusted with the Shadows-Highlights tool. For more about the bands, see the table on the Advanced Wide Field Sensor (AWiFS) from earth.esa.int.
