Description

A group of three (very small) photos and decoration captioned "Imports and exports in the Oriental trade as seen at Great Northern Docks, this city," from brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900). This is part of a two-page section on The Great Northern Railway (which eventually merged to become part of today's BNSF).

The images are further captioned individually:

  • "Japanese teas at G.N. Dock"
  • "Ship Spartan" (with a photo of a tall ship under sail)
  • "10,000 bales of cotton for Japan"

p. 166 of Seattle and the Orient (more properly, Seattle …and the… Orient), a 1900 "souvenir" pamphlet edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen and published by The Times Printing Company (that is, the Seattle Times).

Scanned at 300 dpi; images cleaned up using Picture Publisher's "remove pattern" feature.
