Great Malvern Town Centre

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Great Malvern Town Centre Viewed from Lady Howard de Walden's Drive on the east side of North Hill. This is where the tiny village grew around the gatehouse of the priory. In the late 18th century it grew in popularity with several large houses being built along the Worcester road. When the "Water Cure" came to Malvern in the 1840s there was a rapid expansion. This in turn attracted many boarding schools to settle her. This in turn attracted the scientists who took over Malvern College during World War II. The research establishment caused further expansion and many scientific spin-off companies that makes Malvern what it is today.
