English: The Grey-Bellied Tesia, a warbler species within the Cettiidae family, inhabits various regions spanning Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Flourishing in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, this diminutive bird, characterized by its lengthy legs and abbreviated tail, maneuvers swiftly and discreetly through the dense undergrowth akin to a miniature silhouette. Featuring a yellowish-green upper body and gray underparts, complemented by a distinctive black line beneath the eye and a pale yellowish eyebrow, it bears a close resemblance to the Slaty-Bellied Tesia. However, the latter exhibits a more vibrant yellowish crown, darker gray underparts, and lacks the pale eyebrow. Preferring mid- to high-elevation forested areas, occasionally descending to lower foothills during winter, the Grey-Bellied Tesia forages amidst dense undergrowth, particularly near streams, ferns, or bamboo clusters. Recognizable by its song—a sequence of clear, high, bell-like notes followed by a brief sputtering explosion of lower notes—it adds a melodic dimension to its habitat.
