Summary
[edit]DescriptionGravel dunes in Cwm Ystwyth - geograph.org.uk - 1083825.jpg |
English: Gravel dunes in Cwm Ystwyth Huge deposits of gravel at the base of Grogwynion. The gravel is contaminated with heavy metals originating from the mines on the hill. A little further downstream, the contamination is sufficiently diluted to allow hardy plants such as gorse and heather to grow, but these dunes are almost completely barren. They are popular with mountain bikers, some of which can be seen in the picture. |
