Deutsch: Ostsüdostansicht des Stiftes Rein in der steirischen Marktgemeinde Gratwein-Straßengel.
Das Stift befindet sich im Ort Rein, etwa 14 Kilometer nordwestlich von Graz. Es wurde im Jahr 1129 von Markgraf Leopold dem Starken von Steyr als 38. Kloster der Zisterzienser gestiftet und ist seit der Auflösung aller vorher gegründeten das älteste bestehende Zisterzienserstift der Welt. Die Weihe der Klosterkirche, ursprünglich eine romanische Basilika, fand 1140 statt. Von 1738 bis 1747 kam es zur Barockisierung der Kirche durch den Baumeister Johann Georg Stengg und erhielt damit weitgehendst das heutige Erscheinungsbildː [1].
