Summary
[edit]DescriptionGrand Union Canal near Denham Green - geograph.org.uk - 1110066.jpg |
English: Grand Union Canal near Denham Green The vast and frozen expanse of the Widewater reach of the Grand Union Canal is only broken by a solitary moored narrowboat and the viaduct of the former Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway, now the Chiltern Railways' main line from London Marylebone to High Wycombe and Princes Risborough. This railway was a very late arrival in the construction of the British railway network only being opened in 1906. A down Chiltern Railways' train trundles across the viaduct on the last day of 2008. |
