English: Gown, baby's, full-length gown, white cotton cambric with white work and needlepoint infillings on sleeves and front of bodice. Two flower sprays on hem of front panel to skirt. Hem, neck, sleeves etc trimmed with broderie anglaise. white christening gown made from lawn. Hand embroidered sprigs at base of skirt front panel and hand embroidered edging - darned - simple filling in floral spray. Bodice has no point signifying the baby was a girl. Central panel hand embroidered with Ayrshire filling repeated on sleeves. Three layers stitched on top of sleeve with frill base. collar or back of bodice has draw string neck and waist - skirt has hand embroidered panels down either side. narrow at waist wider at base of skirt. Not as carefully made as usual. Not a great deal of attention paid to inside neatness. It seems that this little afternoon gown has had a great deal of wear.
