| Description |
Cette gouttière en forme de naga à trois têtes, appelée Hang-Lin, est destinée à l'ondoiement des statues de Bouddha d'eau lustrale. Le Vat Sisaket est le plus ancien monastère de Vientiane et l'un des plus importants, construit en 1818, sous le roi Anou. Il n'a pas été pillé lors des invasions siamoises, probablement en raison du style thaÏ qui caractérise son architecture et ses sculptures. L'ensemble est construit sur le modèle d'un vat laotien avec un mur d'enceinte dont la façade intérieure sert d'appui à une galerie. Le Sanctuaire ou Sim dispose d'une véranda entourant l'édifice pourvue de colonnes avec des chapiteaux à fleur de lotus. Les peintures murales révèlent l'influence de l'art d'Ayuthia (Thaïlande). |
