Les images représentent ici des gonades femelles de bogue à differents stades de maturité, chez des spécimens pêchés lors des campagnes MEDITS en Méditerranée. La bogue est un poisson présent dans tout l'Atlantique Est, ainsi qu'en Méditerranée.

Chez les juvéniles, les gonades immatures présentent à la fois les caractères mâle et femelle : on parle d'ovotestis. La maturité sexuelle est atteinte lorsque l'individu mesure 11 à 12cm : les ovotestis évoluent en gonades mâle ou femelle.

The images here represent female bogue gonads at different stages of maturity, in specimens caught during the MEDITS campaigns in the Mediterranean. The bogue is a fish present throughout the Eastern Atlantic, as well as in the Mediterranean.

In juveniles, immature gonads have both male and female characteristics: they are called ovotestis. Sexual maturity is reached when the individual measures 11 to 12 cm: the ovotestis evolve into male or female gonads.
