Description |
English: A post-medieval gold posy ring. A small thin band decorated on the exterior qith a runiing scroll contain traces of the original white enamel; inscribed inside in capitals: BE + TRUE + IN + HART. The letters contain most of their original black enamel. A variant of this inscription is recorded by Joan Evans in the 1596 Harleian manuscript, and there are a number of versions of it in the BM. |
