| Description |
English: Glasgow: Snow Bridge Built around 1800, this bridge was superseded as the main road from Yoker towards the city in 1878 by the Partick Bridge tight corners on the approach to Snow Bridge rendered it unsuitable for the new tram network. It is called Snow Bridge because of the gates in the iron railings, from which large amounts of snow would be dumped in the river following heavy falls. |
