English: 16 March 2012. Dumped beds and other rubbish on the north side of Gladesmore Road N15 near the corner with Fairview Road, South Tottenham N15.
Occasionally, when reporting problems like street dumping, I visit the London-wide website Love Clean London to see if it's got easier to use. But this time, if anything it seemed even more slow and clunky. When I tried to report a second pile of mattresses it failed to retain information I'd typed. A problem only solved by exiting from that screen and retyping. I can imagine someone else might give up at this point. Which is a pity, as I like several of its features. It lets you upload photos; and also click a pin to show the location of problems on a street map. Its Map View shows reports which you and other people have sent in for a particular area. So you can check whether or not the pile of garbage in front of you has already been reported. Haringey, our own local council, has a Report-a-Problem web page which still lacks these facilities for reporting fly-tipping, litter and other dumping. Both Sides Now Only one side of this spectacular gallery of mattresses, bedbases and other rubbish in Gladesmore Road is visible in my photo above. Scroll down to view the other side. Or scroll further to see more dumped beds on the south side of Gladesmore Road on the same afternoon. Veolia, Haringey's contractors, will now come and remove mattresses free of charge from your front garden - if you ask.
