Summary
[edit]DescriptionGlacial overflow channel near Kilburn - geograph.org.uk - 683045.jpg |
English: Glacial overflow channel near Kilburn The west and south sides of the Hambleton Hills have a number of these valleys, channels or gaps along the base of the scarp. They appear to have been formed by meltwaters draining off the hilltops and then being forced around the margin of the slowly decaying glacier in the Vales of Mowbray and York. Most are now dry, or contain small lakes such as this one. |
