Summary
[edit]DescriptionGin gang 002.jpg |
English: Arable fields west of Northside Farm (North Dunslaw Holm). Near to Harlow Hill, Northumberland, Great Britain. The farm retains a gin-gang which can just be seen to the left of the white-doored barn. This is a circular farm building with a sharply pitched roof built for a horse or pony to turn wheels of machinery (the gin) for the provision of power. Rectangular enclosures, identified as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the left (north) of the farm buildings, are considered to be the remains of Romano-British settlement and are clearly visible on Google Earth. |
