Description
English: Dr Stuart Middleton received the Insignia of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to education. Dr Middleton has contributed to secondary and tertiary education for more than 40 years, especially the development of educational curricula in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He has taught at many South Auckland schools, including Aorere College, where he was Principal. He was a trustee of the Sir George Elliot Charitable Trust for more than 15 years and has chaired the Otara Economic Development Trust. He is a member of the College of Education Accreditation Committee, and a judge of the New Zealand Educational Journalism Awards. He has also contributed to the Minister of Education’s Principals Lead Group. .Dr Middleton is the Director of External Resources at the Manukau Institute of Technology, where he is involved in Pasifika development programmes.
