German infantry assault badge, or Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen
Description
English: Incomplete German second world war military badge. The badge is moulded and in the form of a rifle with strap within a wreath. At the top of the wreath sits an eagle looking right. The badge is an infantry assault badge and was awarded to German infantry soldiers who participated in three campaigns. The reverse has a hinged pin intact. Two German identity tags were also discovered in the same area, and are recorded on the PAS database as: <a href="http://www.findsdatabase.org.uk/hms/pas_obj.php?type=finds&id=00147275F0401627"target="_blank">LIN-75CDB6</a> and <a href="http://www.findsdatabase.org.uk/hms/pas_obj.php?type=finds&id=001435CE715017C9"target="_blank">LIN-CE1D45</a>.
