| Description |
English: Georgian Garden No 4, Circus, Bath. In 1985/86 archaeological work began to restore this garden. The Victorians had changed it to their own style, which included a lawn and rockery. The house was completed in 1761; the garden was mainly gravel, with three flower beds on the central axis. In 1836 a basement was added to the house, and the resultant clay was spread in an 18 inch deep layer over the garden. This remained for 150 years. The garden is now open to the public |
