ll. The Shield that braved a Monarchs wrath, The bugle of the clarion call,The sword that smote a tyrants crown, Were swiftly forged at Gunston Hall. And when the mighty war was oer,And freedom gained for one and all. Back to their fathers home returnedThe valiant sons of Gunston Hall. The modest maiden, virtuous, fair. The stalwart youth so strong and tall. Plighted their vows and pledged their truthAmid the bowers of Gunston Hall.
