(p. 201.)The mammalian remains found in the above have not yet beenspecifically determined, but are known to include the following :.antelope, deer, elephant, hippopotamus, shrew (Crocidura), and atleast two small species of rodents. Of these the elephant andhippopotamus represent dwarfed races, whilst the antelope willprobably be found to belong to a hitherto undescribed form. It is-hoped that it will be possible before very long to publish a detailedaccount of these remains. I take this opportunity to express mysincere appreciation of all the help and encouragement I receivedfrom many kind friends both at home and in Crete. DURING a recent stay in London the kindness of Dr. A. S.Woodward enabled me to study some of the splendid Dinosaurianremains in the British Museum. Having principally occupied myself till now with Ornithopodous-Dinosaurs, first of all Eypsilophodon attracted my attention, andmy expectation that this type would prove to be the clue for theunderstanding of all the other Orthopoda has been perfectly fulfilled. Eypsilophodon was described and figured at various times byOwen, Huxley, and Hulke; a restoration of this animal was givenby Marsh in the Geological Magazine for 1896 (p. 6, Fig. 2),and the complete bibliographical list concerning this Dinosaur iscompiled in my paper Synopsis und Abstammung der Dinosaurier(Foldtani Kozlony, 1901, Budapest).
