Notes Beschreibung aus Karl Woermanns Galeriekatalog 1887: Semiramis. Kniestück. Semiramis sitzt im blutrotem Kleide, mit der Krone im aufgelösten goldnen Haare, das eine neben ihr stehende Magd kämmt, links an ihrem Tische, wendet sich nach rechts um, wo der Bote, welcher den Ausbruch des Aufruhrs zu Babylon meldet, in der offenen Thüre steht, und erhebt, entsetzt über die Nachricht, ihre Hände. Mit der Linken hält sie zugleich noch ihr Haar.
