The gelatin liquefaction test is most commonly used to identify Clostridium, particularly C. perfringens, which is known to produce gelatinase. Some species of Pseudomonas and Bacillus, may also produce gelatinase.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The gelatin liquefaction test is a microbiological test used to determine the ability of certain microorganisms, particularly bacteria, to produce the enzyme gelatinase. Gelatinase is an enzyme that breaks down gelatin, which is a protein derived from collagen. This test helps in the identification and differentiation of microorganisms based on their ability to liquefy gelatin.
