De man die hier op de foto staat afgebeeld is hoogst waarschijnlijk Cor de Lange die samen met zijn familie (broer Cees en twee zussen) ooit woonde in de Mariahoeve aan de Dorpsstraat 266 te Wormer. In het Waterlandse archief staat een foto afgebeeld van deze boerderij, onder nr. WAT001006345. Een derde (gehuwde) broer genaamd Willem, woonde een klein stukje verderop aan de Dorpsstraat, schuin tegenover de woning van veehouder W. Dokter, die het mysterieuze gat in zijn weiland ontdekte.
