Description
English: Memorial plaques on the main platform in gare de l'Est (Paris).
The text is : In this place, two workers of the french railways, Georges TOPENOD and Jean DIRAND, from the railway-depot of "Paris la Villette", have been surprised with guns in their hands and have been shot by the Germans on august, 19 1944 (a few days before Liberation of Paris).
