Summary
[edit]DescriptionGallbladder hepatization.jpg |
English: Ultrasonography of the gallbladder of a an 18 year old woman who presented clinically with 5 days of gradually increasing pain indicating cholecystitis. It shows "hepatization" of the gallbladder, which is biliary sludge filling out the entire gallbladder, giving it an echogenicity similar to the liver (at left in image). The gallbladder wall measured 3.7mm (between the cross symbols). She underwent open cholecystectomy, where a stone was found in the cystic duct at its entry into the common bole duct. |
