Description
English: GOES-S is unwrapped in a clean room at at Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Florida, after arriving from Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Colorado, where it was built. GOES-S is now undergoing preparations for a March 2018 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

GOES-S flew aboard a U.S. Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo transport from Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida on December 4, 2017.

GOES-S will join its sister satellite, GOES-16, in orbit as GOES-17.

Shipping a satellite is no small feat. GOES-S is over 18 feet wide and weighs more than 6,000 pounds!
