Description

The GOES-R satellite was transported to Kennedy Space Center on August 22, 2016 aboard a U.S. Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo transport.

The massive plane didn't just carry GOES-R but also the semi-truck that brought the satellite from Lockheed Martin in Littleton, Colorado, to Buckley Air Force Base, where it was loaded onto the military transport to Florida. The truck then slowly unloaded the important cargo and brought it to a clean room at Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Florida, where it will be prepared for launch on November 4, 2016.
