| Description |
English: Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific RR EMD 11-car (including one power car) "Aerotrain" showing the 1,200 hp Bo-A power car of "Aerotrain No.2". 55 cars in 5 sets were built in 1955 for the Pennsylvania RR, New York Central, Milwaukee and Union Pacific but all were withdrawn by 1058 except two units which were sold to the C.R.I.&P. R.R. but which were themselves withdrawn in 1965. They were spectacular looking but failures owing to technical deficiencies and servicing difficulties whilst the passenger accommodation was very cramped. At Green Bay Railroad Museum in Wisconsin. |
