Green = GFAP, labels astrocyte processes and radial glial stem cells. Red = Thymidine kinase, expressed in the cell body of all GFAP+ cells, allows for selective killing of GFAP+ cells that divide (i.e. stem cells), thereby reducing adult neurogenesis. Blue = counterstain, labels all cell nuclei. |
